History

A brief history…..anyone?  Please volunteer to rewrite this page.

Scarborough is the most Southern hamlet on the Atlantic coast.

It has its origins in the 1920s and slowly turned into a rustic holiday village during the 20th century.

More recently, Scarborough has become the home for a growing number of families and turned into a colourful and vibrant community. Its unique location, situated between the mountains of the national park and the thunderous Atlantic ocean gives it its unsurpassed charm. The sense of being isolated from the world in a secure and rural village, yet being close to vibrant Cape Town is remarkable. Scarborough beach is one of the Cape’s most pristine beaches; a haven for more experienced surfers.
