Did you know?

·       It takes between 100 & 500 years for a plastic bag to disintegrate.

·       80% of marine litter is plastic.

·       Plastic bags pollute the environment & harm living organisms.

·       Plastic waste in the sea gets into the food chain.

·       Future generations will suffer from the pollution caused by plastic bags. ( from www.plasticbagfreeday.org )

All shops in the Far South Peninsula have been invited to participate in this campaign.
You can take part by:

1.   Taking your own reusable shopping bags.

2.   Refusing plastic bags & other single-use plastic items like straws & cup covers.

3.   Choosing items that have less plastic wrapping.

4.   Leaving unnecessary plastic wrapping at the shop.

5.   Explaining why you’re doing it, in a friendly way. Perhaps others will also think about it.

6.   Taking a selfie, photo or video of your experience & posting it on the Facebook group, along with your story.
