This young elephant seal male has been around the peninsula for a while. He was first tagged in Buffels Bay, Cape Point last year.
If you look at the images attached, he is developing a trunk. He is also going through a moult which usually takes up to two weeks, in which time they prefer to rest and stay out of the sea.
Please assist us with keeping all dogs away from him because he is particularly unhappy when they are nearby. If for the time being, dog walkers must check his location and completely avoid him.
The authorities recommend keeping a distance of 20m from him. He is very mobile even though he appears lazy and will chase and injure anyone who threatens him.
We welcome visitors like this and it is a great reminder of how privileged we all are living so close to nature.

Cat sitters! – My family are heading off to the UK for Christmas to be with our families and we are therefore looking for someone to look after our 3 cats (Mum and 2 daughters) for roughly 5 weeks as we really don’t want them to go to a cattery. They are very much outdoor cats and will happily roam.

ART & SOUL: Saturday Morning Workshop – 14 November 2015, 9-12
I am running a ONE-OFF WORKSHOP next Saturday morning 14 November 2015 in my studio in Scarborough. It will be a special and gentle morning's process, inspired by the new year that is approaching… a kind of "visioning" for 2016.
The morning will include a meditation, spontaneous and playful art making, and reflection time… offering you a wonderful pause in the busyness of the end of the year. Spaces are limited so booking is essential.
NO ART EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY
TIME: 9am – 12
VENUE: 11 Daisy Road, Scarborough
